introduction of SHY Foundation and Resham madam. After the introduction the
School Principal, Mrs. Vidhyut Sahare madam well come Reshm madam and
she also guided students regarding the topic and asked students to channelize
their energy in proper, positive way.
Resham madam conducted the session, standard wise. As per the age group she
has nicely changed her tone and the way of interacting with the children. For
example, for pre-primary and Primary children she used more stories, used
puppet, book with large pictures (My Safety Book) to explain the topics. She

also conducted role play with student’s participation so that they can relate or
imagine the situation easily.
TOPICS EXPLAINED:
(1) Gender Sensitivity: we have stereotype belief in our society that; boys
are strong, they don’t cry. Resham madam pointed out on this stereotype
belief and explained that in our country, most of the boys were abused.
(2) Strangers are dangerous: to explain this point Resham madam, shared her
childhood experience and how she bravely faced it. Approximately 90%
of bad touch comes from the known person. It is easy for them as they
know the family, child and all related details.
(3) Importance of saying ‘NO’: Children should not allow others except
parents to touch their four Private body parts e.g. lips, chest, between the
legs front and back side. Through the role play Resham madam
explained, how to run away from the situation, take another elder’s help
and most important, share it to your parents; don’t hide anything from
them. Say ‘NO’ to secret games, closed door games.
(4) Social Media & Crime: Resham madam explained how precautions to be
taken while using social media, internet. She explained this topic for elder
children e.g. 5 th std. onwards. She explained how criminals’ misuses
photos like, fake DP how they blackmail, and ask money. Children
should hide their real information, avoid posting family photos.
(5) Think twice before blaming someone: child should recognize the touch
whether it was intentional or accidental. If it is happening again and again
then it is intentional. But if it is accidental, think twice before blaming
someone, it may ruin his life.
FEEDBACK:
The session was interactive. Resham madam was asking questions, repeating
the important points, with the help of puppet she make children repeat the
important points, e.g. say loudly ‘NO’ to bad touch, RUN away from the
situation, take HELP, and share it to the PARENTS.
Overall the session was excellently conducted. All students were participated
actively, they were giving expected response.
