We Blossom Public School, Pune marked International English Day on Wednesday, 23rd April 2026 with a series of literary events aimed at fostering language skills and confidence among students.
Event Overview:
The day was dedicated to celebrating the global significance of the English language and its role in communication, creativity, and critical thinking. The programme was organized for students across all grades with age-appropriate competitions.
Key Competitions:
- Poem Recitation | Classes 1 to 5: Our youngest learners took to the stage with charm and confidence. Participants recited classic and original poems with expressive delivery, focusing on pronunciation, rhythm, and stage presence. The event highlighted the joy of language in its simplest form.
- Debate Competition | Classes 9 to 12: Senior students participated in a spirited debate on relevant contemporary topics. The competition was judged on content, articulation, rebuttal, and overall presentation. It reflected our students’ analytical skills and command over English.
Message from School Leadership:
Principal Mrs. SHILPA INDURKAR MA'AM congratulated all participants and noted that such events build a strong foundation for effective communication. She encouraged students of Classes 6 to 8 to take inspiration and prepare for future literary opportunities at school.
Outcome:
The celebration concluded with prize distribution fixed in special assemblyand certificates for winners. International English Day reminded everyone that language is not just a subject, but a bridge to express ideas and connect with the world.
